Noordhoek and Surroundings
The lovely village of Noordhoek is very popular and has a lot to offer! Situated in the Southern Peninsula you are close to the penguins of Boulders Beach, Cape Point and the city of Cape Town or the Winelands are only half an hour’s drive away.
Sunny Bank guests are provided with a comprehensive manual also containing a lot of inside information to make the absolute best out of your stay.
Restaurants
Just two examples of the so many lovely places to have a meal in Noordhoek:
You will find Frank Dangereux’s Foodbarn at the Farm Village. Delicious Tapas in the evening and an amazing breakfast in the morning.
Limoncello (Red Herring district) is one of the best Italian restaurants in the region.
Also, the famous La Colombe (Silvermist Estate, Constantia) and the amazing Chefs Warehouse Tinstwalo (Chapmans Peak towards Hout Bay) are very close to Noordhoek.
Sight Seeing
Visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, go surfing in Muizenberg, and enjoy the view from Chapman’s Peak. Visit the ostrich farm on your way to Cape Point. There is something to see and do every day! Don’t forget: The city of Cape Town and even the Winelands are only half an hour’s drive from Noordhoek.
Biking, Riding & Hiking
Rent an (electric) bicycle and explore the Peninsula. From Imhoff farm (Kommetjie) cross the wetlands and Long Beach on horseback. Silvermine offers unforgettable (also easy) hiking trails.
Food markets
The food market is every Wednesday at the Farm Village in high and shoulder season.
Cape Point Vineyard organizes a food market every Thursday (also in season).
Music & Arts
You should not miss a live music show at Cafe Roux (Farm Village)! Check out the agenda online, book a show, enjoy a lovely meal and the music!
The Noordhoek Art Gallery (behind the coloured wall across from Checkers/ Sun Valley Mall) offers original work by local artists.
Wine and Beer
Furny’s Fine Wine (Red Herring District) is a lovely wine bar where you can also order delicious bites and small meals.
Find beautiful craft beers at the local brewery and restaurant Aegir (Red Herring District).
Shopping
Sun Valley Mall (Checkers, DisChem, ATM) is around the corner. Also close by you will find Long Beach Mall (Pick ’n Pay, Foodlovers Market, Woolworths, DisChem, Clicks, Post Office, ATM, Bank Offices).
Farm Village and Imhoff Farm (Kommetjie) offers various lovely boutique shops. Great for buying gifts and souvenirs.
